Science Training
The SUSD Foundation partnered with the Arizona Science Center to provide third grade teachers training on the state’s science standards.
Arizona recently made dramatic changes to its science standards, especially in the third grade curriculum. To address training needs resulting from the new standards, the Arizona Science Center recently announced a new training series targeted to third grade teachers. The training series covers all aspects of the new content standards including teaching plant structures and life cycles, the ecosystem, animal adaptations, light, sound, and earth materials. Funding for the training was provided by the SUSD Foundation. Teachers contribute their time to attend classes for which they receive thirty-five hours of professional development credits.
